La prima farebbe riferimento all'appellativo di due consoli dell'Impero romano - Onicius Cerialis e Quinto Petilio Cerialis[5] - che avrebbero qui svolto la loro attività. La seconda supposizione troverebbe invece riscontri nel fiorente mercato dei cereali[5] e alla presenza in loco di un tempio romano dedicato alla dea dell'agricoltura Cerere[5] e ad una correlata festività, la "Cerialia"[5]. È probabile già in epoca romana[5] la fondazione di un insediamento umano lungo la Via Julia Augusta, supportato anche dal ritrovamento di reperti archeologici[5] dell'epoca. Alla dominazione romana subentrò in epoca medievale la potenza religiosa dei vescovi della diocesi di Albenga[5], a cui seguì una totale giurisdizione da parte del comune albenganese che assoggettò questa zona tra i suoi possedimenti "del Contado" concedendo, però, un'ampia autonomia amministrativa[5]. Fu nel corso del XIV secolo che il territorio di Ceriale passò sotto il controllo diretto della Repubblica di Genova. Two hypotheses have been put forward on the origin of the toponym Ceriale. The first would refer to the name of two consuls of the Roman Empire - Onicius Cerialis and Quinto Petilio Cerialis [5] - who would have carried out their activity here. The second supposition would instead find confirmation in the flourishing cereal market [5] and the presence on the spot of a Roman temple dedicated to the goddess of agriculture Ceres [5] and to a related festivity, the "Cerialia" [5]. The foundation of a human settlement along the Via Julia Augusta is likely already in Roman times [5], also supported by the discovery of archaeological finds [5] of the time. The Roman domination was replaced in medieval times by the religious power of the bishops of the diocese of Albenga [5], which was followed by a total jurisdiction by the Albenganian municipality which subjected this area to its "del Contado" possessions, granting, however, a large administrative autonomy [5]. It was during the fourteenth century that the territory of Ceriale passed under the direct control of the Republic of Genoa.

G	Gaetano Cavaleri on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ceriale e una piccola ma stupenda cittadina affacciata sul mare uscendo dalla stazione dove purtroppo fermano solo i treni regionali e dove non ce biglietteria e neanche bagni perché considerata dalle ferrovie stazione dismessa da parecchi anni per far quadrare i bilanci .la cittadina a pochi metri dalla stazione Fs e situata all'interno di un bellissimo centro abitato formato da una parte di centro storico al suo interno e da una parte moderna situata sulla passeggiata a mare il suo piccolo centro e ben fornito di negozi per tutti le esigenze bar ristoranti e trattorie e discount mentre sulla parte sinistra della passeggiata a mare inizia la zona degli hotel e degli alberghi .le spiagge sono bellissime e ben tenute sia libere che private il posto e molto tranquillo si sta bene .dal centro paese partono anche le corriere della provincia che portano i turisti fino su al parco acquatico di ceriale che sta in zona collinare molto amato e frequentato dalle famiglie .inoltre intorno a ceriale bassa ce una zona di bellissimi campeggi che proseguono sulla statale che porta alla vicina Albenga. Ceriale is a small but beautiful town overlooking the sea coming out of the station where unfortunately only regional trains stop and where there is no ticket office or bathrooms because it is considered by the railways to have been abandoned for several years to make ends meet. The town a few meters from the station Fs is located in a beautiful town formed by a part of the historic center inside and a modern part located on the promenade its small center is well equipped with shops for all needs bars restaurants and taverns and discount stores while on the left side of the promenade begins the area of hotels and hotels. the beaches are beautiful and well kept both free and private the place and very quiet it is good. from the town center also the buses of the province that bring tourists depart up to the water park of ceriale which is in a hilly area much loved and frequented by families. also around ceria the lower there is an area of beautiful campsites that continue on the state road that leads to nearby Albenga.

Clean and tidy station. You buy the ticket at the machines. Not far from the beach from the station. Very nice and welcoming town.
