From the square in front of the cathedral you can enjoy an exceptional view: you can see the entire Pontine plain, the promontory of San felice circeo and, on particularly clear days, even the islands of Ponza and Palmarola.

Importante monumento artistico è il baldacchino ligneo, opera di un intagliatore abruzzese residente a Roma, Perone, del 1673; dello stesso autore è l'imponente statua lignea di san Lidano, patrono della città, collocata in una nicchia settecentesca lungo la parete di fondo dell'abside, realizzata alla fine del sec. XVIII. Lungo le pareti è stato sistemato il coro dei canonici: realizzato nel 1731 dall'intagliatore tedesco Enrico Breninch, mutilato nel 1969 per far posto ad un organo "Fedeli" dono di papa Paolo VI (1963-1978) e proveniente dalla Villa pontificia di Castel Gandolfo, il coro è stato restaurato e ricollocato al suo posto nel 2013. Risale invece al 1734 la decorazione attuale dell'altare maggiore, edificato a ridosso del baldacchino e sovrapposto al sepolcro di san Lidano: venne realizzato a spese del Capitolo dei canonici e con un notevole contributo economico del cardinale Pietro Marcellino Corradini (Sezze 1658 - Roma 1743). Di fianco alla cappella dell'abside, sulla sinistra si apre la cappella del Ss.mo Sacramento, decorata da un altare ligneo del sec. XVII, mentre sulla destra c'è la cappella del Ss.mo Salvatore o del coro d'inverno dei canonici: restaurato nel 2014, il coro ligneo che vi trova posto è stato eseguito nel sec. XIX da un ebanista locale, Vincenzo Bernardi, a spese di mons. Ercole Domenico Boffi, vescovo di Bagnoregio, antico canonico penitenziere della cattedrale. Una delle cappelle laterali - già dedicata allaMadonna degli orfani il cui quadro (realizzato nel 1602) è del pittore bolognese Alessandro Bencivenga - è stata dedicata nel 1962 a san Carlo da Sezze, canonizzato da papa Giovanni XXIII nel 1959; al suo interno, in una nicchia, sono conservati i resti del venerabile francescano fr. Bonifacio da Sezze (1747-1799), ivi traslati nel 1999. The interior of the cathedral has three naves divided by pillars, with a ribbed vault in the central nave, and cross vaulted ones in the side aisles. An important artistic monument is the wooden canopy, the work of an engraver from Abruzzo who lives in Rome, Perone, from 1673; by the same author is the imposing wooden statue of Saint Lidano, patron saint of the city, placed in an eighteenth-century niche along the back wall of the apse, built at the end of the century. XVIII. Along the walls there is a choir of canons: built in 1731 by the German engraver Enrico Breninch, mutilated in 1969 to make room for a "Fedeli" organ donated by Pope Paul VI (1963-1978) and coming from the Papal Villa of Castel Gandolfo, the choir was restored and replaced in its place in 2013. Se c'è ottima visibilità possono scorgersi distintamente Ponza e le altre isole pontine. Unici i tramonti di fine Estate, sul mare. From the belvedere one of the most characteristic views of the Agro Pontino, from Nettuno to the mountains before Terracina. If there is excellent visibility, Ponza and the other Pontine islands can be clearly seen. Unique are the late summer sunsets, overlooking the sea.
