Al suo interno è possibile ammirare la pala raffigurante "Il Battesimo di Gesù" di Paolo Caliari, detto il Veronese, grande maestro del Rinascimento. La pala è poco illuminata, ma bellissima. Infatti, nel 1967 durante i lavori di consolidamento delle fondazioni danneggiate dalle alluvioni del 1965-1966, sotto l'attuale pavimento della chiesa e della sacrestia sono stati rinvenuti segmenti delle fondazioni dell'antico edificio, forse a croce greca e vari elementi di pietra d'Istria bianca e grigia.
