Viaggio di circa un'ora, non avevo prenotato il biglietto e nonostante l'alta stagione ho trovato posto. Il luogo merita assolutamente di essere visto e visitato soprattutto per il panorama e la natura incontaminata. Si consiglia di fare la gita in barca (ci sono due opzioni) per poter vedere i punti più nascosti direttamente dal mare, nonché avere la possibilità di fare il bagno in un mare cristallino. Dotatevi di una maschera o occhialini! Punto negativo è lo stato di abbandono in alcuni punti, che non passeranno inosservati a chi piace esplorare i punti remoti dell'isola. D	Dario on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Castello bellissimo: visto in lontananza dall'isola di San Domino da uno dei percorsi che portano giù alle calette è davvero uno spettacolo: sembra quasi guardare il castello Aragonese di Ischia dalla strada di Cartaromana. Arrivato all'isola di San Nicola non vedevo l'ora di visitarlo ma sono rimasto profondamente deluso: a parte la salita lungo le mura che è davvero stancante dopo una giornata di mare perché molto ripida, non ho apprezzato per niente la trascuratezza e le condizioni in cui il castello vige. Aree transennate e abbandonate, spazzatura ovunque, erbacce e steppaglie... In alcuni punti sembra trovarsi in un rudere abbandonato ed è davvero un peccato. Mi hanno spiegato che nonostante i finanziamenti stanziati non hanno mai completato i lavori di riqualificazione ed è un vero peccato Beautiful castle: seen in the distance from the island of San Domino from one of the paths that lead down to the coves it is truly a spectacle: it almost seems to look at the Aragonese castle of Ischia from the road to Cartaromana. Enormi le potenzialità del castello, ma una volta entrati si viene sopraffatti non solo dall’abbandono, ma dall’assoluto DEGRADO. Se cade una trave si può dare la colpa alla mancata manutenzione; se alcune stanze (nota bene: APERTE E ACCESSIBILI) sono diventate latrine per turisti incontinenti è la maleducazione del visitatore; ma se nelle stanze del castello si trovano divani, materassi, perfino cucine e forni coperti di sterpaglie lì -mi dispiace- ma sono i cittadini a non avere rispetto di questo gioiello. In un altro posto un castello del genere attirerebbe turisti e registi disposti a pagare per vederlo, alle Tremiti invece mi ha lasciato rabbia e sdegno. If a beam falls you can blame the lack of maintenance; if some rooms (please note: OPEN AND ACCESSIBLE) have become latrines for incontinent tourists it is the rudeness of the visitor; but if in the rooms of the castle there are sofas, mattresses, even kitchens and ovens covered with weeds there - I'm sorry - but it is the citizens who have no respect for this jewel. In another place such a castle would attract tourists and directors willing to pay to see it, but at the Tremiti it left me anger and indignation.
m	michael bardeggia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A difesa dell'Abbazia di Santa Maria a Mare, sorgono le imponenti Mura di Cinta ed il Torrione Angioino, di forma circolare, che fiancheggia l'entrata principale del Castello dei Badiali. E' possibile ammirare numerosissime ed ingegnose opere di difesa, costruite durante l'epoca dei Cistercensi con il Patrocinio di Carlo d'Angiò. Un'opera molto caratteristica, è la Loggia della Cisterna della Meridiana (così chiamata perchè si suppone che un tempo i frati la adoperassero per misurare l'ora mediante i raggi solari), un pozzo molto profondo, circa 17 metri, che serviva per la raccolta dell'acqua piovana ad opera dei frati.
