In antichità Castelnuovo era considerato centro di passo della Garfagnana, successivamente è passato sotto diversi comuni fino a diventare un comune della provincia di Lucca.
A village that dates back to 740 in the Lombard period, rises at the confluence of the Serchio river and the Tùrrite Secca stream. In ancient times Castelnuovo was considered the center of the Garfagnana pass, then it passed under several municipalities until it became a municipality in the province of Lucca.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy to use station, but be very careful with the departure posters which are tricky to understand. Much better to plan on line.
Free parking makes it a no brqiner for trips to Lucca and Pisa.
