The castle is well kept and worth a visit but also the surrounding area and to be discovered well informed before leaving, it is not known if it is open.

F	Francesco Leanza on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il castello è una struttura imponente e ben tenuta, ma dell'antico fabbricato ormai c'è poco, essendo stato trasformato in residenza nobiliare dai duchi Nelson. All'interno della stalla è possibile vedere i resti dell'abside dell'abbazia normanna di "S. Maria di quel valorosissimo Maniace", come viene indicata nelle fonti medievali. Oltre ai resti dell'abside, risale al XII secolo lo splendido portale della chiesa. The castle is an imposing and well-kept structure, but there is little of the ancient building now, having been transformed into a noble residence by the Nelson Dukes. Inside the stable it is possible to see the remains of the apse of the Norman abbey of "S. Maria di that valiant Maniace", as indicated in medieval sources. In addition to the remains of the apse, the splendid church portal dates back to the 12th century.
s	stellisa stella on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima struttura. Le parti antiche della costruzione sono state inglobate nel Castello che fu donato alla Famiglia Nelson. Ambienti molto belli, splendida la chiesa ben conservata e bellissimi i resti dell'antichissima Chiesa Basiliana. Un posto incantevole pieno di curiosità interessanti. Le guide sono gentili e disponibili. Beautiful structure. The ancient parts of the building have been incorporated into the Castle which was donated to the Nelson Family. Very beautiful environments, splendid well-preserved church and beautiful remains of the ancient Basilian Church. A lovely place full of interesting curiosities. The guides are kind and helpful.
S	Simo Simo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una vera delusione è dal 2020 che dicono che aprirà a breve ma ancora è chiuso . Un vero peccato perché andrebbe valorizzato e non lasciato in abbandono . Le solite cose alla siciliana. A real disappointment is from 2020 which say it will open shortly but still closed. A real shame because it should be valued and not left abandoned. The usual Sicilian things.

VERGOGNA SOLO VERGOGNA. C	Concè on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Allora, do 1 stella per il semplice motivo che non si può tenere CHIUSA una struttura di questo genere, addirittura il bar difronte ci ha detto che è da 3 ANNI CHIUSA per ristrutturazione..... È che stanno ristrutturando la Salerno - Reggio Calabria? Praticamente in questo momento, questa struttura, è diventata una postazione per i forestali addetti all'antincendio. Tutto questo, è un classico esempio di mala politica o incapacità politica, fate voi. Ovviamente si sa che ad ogni ristrutturazione di un luogo pubblico sono picciuli che si spartiscono, ma spartitevi quello che vi dovete spartire e riaprite le strutture al popolo. Cmq vi lascio qualche foto della parte esterna, quella che si può visitare...
