Castello di Rosciano

I know Umbria and Tuscany well, growing up around there and then going back 3-4 times a year. I’m a big fan of Tuscany but Umbria has something of more exquisitely authentic, culturally rich and engaging. We looked at various options to host our wedding across Umbria, what we found with the Castello di Rosciano exceeded the expectations we had before the search, during the planning and at the special day itself! How best can I describe it? Imagine the most exquisite food, sophisticated but understated with an appreciation for craft, produce and authenticity, rather than showy. The setting of a castle, restored with care, with breath-taking views (it’s no exaggeration to say it’s the best view in Umbria with Torgiano, Assisi, Perugia and Mount Subasio all visible with a 360 view!) Our guest described our wedding as enchanting, a fairy-tale and like nothing else they’d been to. The management has a lot going for them. A family run business, with skilled staff speaking good English yet that run it with a duty of love as well as a business (the castle has been in the family for generations). The rooms have been recently renovated keeping the castle details yet beautifully done to a high standard. This is also a great point, your guest can stay overnight without worrying about driving, and there’s plenty of amazing airbnb’s around if you need to shuttle people around. A key point to also remember when looking in Italy is the separation of renting a location and catering. Rosciano do all in-house using their own kitchen and trusted staff, produce is sourced locally and to a very high standard. Finally on this point, this is their only business. It’s not a convention centre one week a wedding venue the next, or multi-purpose space – this is what they do, and they’re good at it. They’re set up and specialise in turning special moments into lasting memories. So weather you have a lot of time to define the details, or need someone trustworthy to land an amazing experience, the Castello di Rosciano will not leave you hoping you’d tried a bit harder or gone elsewhere. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

The team at Rosciano is absolutely outstanding. Matteo, Viviana, Antonello, Chiara, Stefano, Mario & co. are masters in what they do and the team works tirelessly to offer you what goes beyond and above your dream wedding. We are London based, and worked with Rosciano for our June 2019 wedding, without an external wedding planner. The team pulled it together like a dream and everyone was absolutely stunned not only at the location (which is objectively one of the most beautiful places you will ever see), but also at how curated the wedding was in every detail. Particularly in good and drinks, your guests will want for nothing. Absolutely nothing. Rosciano’s buffets (antipasti, desserts) are out of a dream and so is the sit-down dinner. Everything they source is outstanding, first class local Umbrian produce. Every request can be be discussed and adapted to your taste. Paolo (from Innamorati Pazzi flowers) completed the picture with the most because flower arrangements I have ever seen, and I couldn’t have dreamt of a more amazing wedding than the one the Rosciano team gave us. Look no further for a wedding in Italy: I guarantee you you will not be able to find a friendlier and more competent team than these guys. Honestly, look no further for your dream to come true.

A year has gone by since our dream wedding at Castello Rosciano. We, of course, have the most amazing memories (it was our wedding after all!) but so too do our family and friends who still talk about how incredible it was. The setting is truly stunning, the food is to die for (something else our friends and family regularly still talk about!!) and Chiara and the team there are just THE BEST - they honestly make you feel like one of their family. Alessandro our photographer and Thomas our videographer were excellent (and so was what they produced) and it was a pleasure to have them there! Stefano did a fantastic job coordinating everything so we could officially marry there on the day (we live in London) and was always on hand when we had questions. Castello Rosciano will always be a totally magic place for us and we look forward to returning one day soon. We can’t say a big enough thank you to Chiara and her family for sharing it with us!

Well, where to start? How about from the comments we got from our guests who came from different parts of the world: “the most wonderful wedding I’ve been to”, “feels like we’re in a fairy tale”, “like in a movie”. My wife and I will remember the day of our wedding as one of the most beautiful days of our life, and a big part of this is thanks to the great location of the Castello di Rosciano and its wonderful staff. One year ago, when my wife (who is from Hawaii) dreamed about getting married in the countryside of Umbria, after visiting about thirty locations, picked the Castello di Rosciano, a choice that turned out to be a perfect one. Fantastic location, with breathtaking views, and a professional staff, attentive and kind, starting from the owners Remo and Fausta, their sons Matteo and Chiara, to the maître Antonello, the Chef, and each and every member of the waiting and cleaning personnel. Not to mention the food: delicious, refined, from the pizza party we organized the day before the wedding, to the hors d’oeuvres, the antipasto buffet and the main courses during the wedding day: we received so many compliments about how awesome the food was, even from the Italian guests who generally tend to be a little more picky in these situations. With Antonello we coordinated in advance when to serve the different courses, and when to hold service for speeches: when the dishes were served, 80 people were served at the same time with a hot meal, which in my opinion was quite impressive. The Castello di Rosciano is a location dedicated exclusively to weddings and important meetings, that performs more than one hundred weddings every year, that has the experience of thousands of weddings in the pasts, and has a proved system that works very well; nonetheless, at the Castello you don’t feel like you’re at a wedding factory where you are treated just like a client, which we happened to feel like in few other locations. Instead you receive a treatment tailored to your needs and wants, and for that special day you really feel at home. Both my wife and I strongly recommend to whoever wants to make their special day even more special this wonderful Castello, thank you so much again!

I had the pleasure of getting married at the beautiful Castello di Rosciano. What an incredible day it was! The grounds are stunning and the views are amazing! Chiara, Antonello, Mateo and Stefano were very helpful in organizing our special day. They make you feel like family and I really appreciate Chiara’s level of attentiveness and responsiveness, especially when planning a wedding from overseas. Her English is great and she is easy to communicate with. Chiara helps with the organization of your event and she is fun, energetic and a pleasure to be around. My husband and I spent hours chatting with her the day after our wedding. She is hysterical! Very stylish as well. They really make you feel like family and treat you as a member of their own. Chiara’s mom doesn’t speak much English but she does very well in her effort and signals loving gestures which are all very cute and sweet. She is everyone’s Italian Nonna! Antonello is fantastic and goes above and beyond to make your day special. He is so fun! We mentioned we would love to have a champagne pyramid at the wedding and he surprised us by organizing this. He also surprised us with our favorite wine at the sweetheart table and pays great attention to detail. All of our guests commented on how attentive and friendly both Chiara and Antonello were during our event. Stefano provided a tour of the castle during our appertiv. The guests were really appreciative of that and enjoyed learning the history of this historical monument. We got married in the on site chapel which is wildly romantic and beautiful. It rained during our ceremony and the lights went out so part of it was held by candlelight. The thunder and lightening roared through the old stone walls making for a unique and intimate experience. The place is magical and the layout allows for guests to be in various rooms for different parts of the event, making for many unique experiences in one day! The food was incredible and I’m a foodie. No one will be hungry! The guests cannot stop talking about how delicious everything was and how they felt they were in a real life fairytale. The chef is amazing and even went about arranging to have oysters and my favorite fried zucchini blossoms as part of the food stations. None of which were in the menu! They really go the extra mile to make your day so very special. Many Thanks to the beautiful Rosciano family. We are so grateful for the experience we had at your wonderful castle and feel truly blessed to have been able to carry out our dream of having a fairytale wedding. Do yourself a favor and let the crew of Castello di Rosciano handle your wedding. I am Italian and my wife is American. We live in the US and we planned the wedding from overseas. We were overwhelmed to say the least. Matteo and his group "hand-held" us throughout the entire process, all the way to the last day when we sadly packed out bags and left. The location is breath-taking, the food was phenomenal, the way the entire situation was handled from a logistical and organizational standpoint was impeccable. I have been to dozens of weddings, and so have my relatives and friends, but every single guest told us that they have never been to a wedding better than ours. It was an incredible 4-day party, where my wife and I were able to reunite around us our loved ones and celebrate for 4 days straight. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding. The overall cost for our 4 days was ridiculously less than many traditional weddings (reception + brunch of the day after) I have been at. Couldn't be any happier. On a corollary note - all our US guests made an awesome vacation in Italy out if our wedding. They had about one year notice to plan and it worked out perfectly. Thank you for the awesome experience. Great location, with breathtaking views and landscapes of typical Umbria scenery! Great food, and very cosy atmosphere and very friendly personnel!

Just come back from here after celebrating the wedding of Lisa and Patrick. The venue was simply stunning. The team were so wonderful and could not do enough to help. The food was lovely and the rooms were perfect. It is a place I will never forget.
