★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully maintained 14th century castle. Was a private residence up to the 1920s. Great "keep" gives you an idea of how this a tually worked as a defensive fortress.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I must say from the start I haven't been in the castle as it was closed when we visited. It is a fine example of town defences an very nicely preserved . It takes a roughly triangular form ( wedge shaped) the main gate way is particularly attractive. We liked the small streets surrounding the Castello , close to the town centre and the tourist information office easy walking even for the less able.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice castello in the heart of the historical centre of Carovigno, beautiful entrance, loads of historical information about the Castelo. Free visit and helpful staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not really worth it. They charge you €3 per ticket. Don't expect views from up on a tower, you are only allowed on the first floor. Barely any historical items are in display. See photo's.
