★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La cascina è organizzata intorno ad una grande corte con aia e tre accessi.
L'edificio principali pale è il cosiddetto Castello, di tre piani, considerato la parte più antica del complesso sulla cui c’è una corona di merli ghibellini realizzati probabilmente nell'Ottocento.
Gli altri edifici che compongono il complesso sono la chiesa dell'Immacolata, le case coloniche, la stalla grande, due sili circolari posti a sud all'esterno della cascina e alcuni fienili e portici. Alcune fonti bibliografiche individuano la cascina Castello come complesso agricolo fortificato del XIV-XV secolo.
Nel 1665 la cascina è acquistata dal monastero delle Carcanine di Milano acda Alberto Marliani e nel 1787 è venduta all’asta ai fratelli Busti di Milano.
Il 3 settembre 1858 i fratelli Giovanni, Teodolinda e Luigi Veneziani vendono al duca Lodovico Melzi d'Eril la possessione Castello di Settala. Si fa risalire ai Melzi d'Eril un periodo di trasformazioni che coinvolgono l'intero complesso e portano alla realizzazione della grande corte.
In seguito, nel 1855, il censimento della Provincia di Milano contò 70 abitanti della cascina, sul totale di 1279 abitanti a Settala.
The farmhouse is organized around a large courtyard with a farmyard and three entrances.
The main building is the so-called Castle, with three floors, considered the oldest part of the complex on which there is a crown of Ghibelline battlements probably made in the nineteenth century.
The other buildings that make up the complex are the church of the Immaculate Conception, the farmhouses, the large stable, two circular silos located south outside the farmhouse and some barns and arcades. Some bibliographic sources identify the Castello farmhouse as a fortified agricultural complex of the 14th-15th century.
In 1665 the farmhouse was purchased by the Carcanine monastery of Milan by Alberto Marliani and in 1787 it was sold at auction to the Busti brothers of Milan.
On 3 September 1858 the brothers Giovanni, Teodolinda and Luigi Veneziani sold the possession of Castello di Settala to Duke Lodovico Melzi d'Eril. A period of transformations involving the entire complex and leading to the construction of the great court dates back to the Melzi d'Eril.
Later, in 1855, the census of the Province of Milan counted 70 inhabitants of the farmhouse, out of the total of 1279 inhabitants in Settala.
