★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Via Po è una delle vie più importanti del centro storico cittadino.
La via collega la centralissima piazza Castello a piazza Vittorio Veneto.
È caratterizzata dai portici, sotto i quali si dispongono locali storici, bar, caffetterie, negozi, librerie e alcune bancarelle di libri usati.
I suoi portici con quelli di piazza Castello, via Roma e via Pietro Micca formano il sistema di portici più lungo della città.
Qui è presente anche la sede storica dell’Università di Torino, fondata nel 1404.
È lunga 704 metri e larga 30 metri.
Venne realizzata in modo non parallelo per collegare il centro della città con il ponte sul Po.
La cosa particolare è che il lato sinistro della via presenta i terrazzi di copertura dei passaggi pedonali, assenti però sul lato destro.
In pratica, solo il lato sinistro garantisce la continuità dei portici fino a piazza Vittorio Veneto.
