★ ★ ★ ★ ★ C'è un percorso da seguire se si vuole vedere tutti i luoghi di San Francesco prima e dopo la conversione, potete trovarli sul sito inassisi. Questa è la casa ed opificio tessile, in cui il padre credendolo folle volle tenerlo prigioniero in una cella affinché rinsavisse. Scendendo alcuni scalini si arriva alla Plateola e ai Fondi in cui si lavoravano i tessuti e dove oggi troviamo il Museo delle Arti e Mestieri (ingresso gratuito) e dove Francesco vedeva lavorare i telai che tessevano le lane che poi il padre vendeva in Francia. Nel periodo natalizio vi ho trovato anche un presepe. Appena fuori c'è la chiesetta di San Francesco.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A pochissimi passi dalla Piazza del Comune e dalla Chiesa Nuova, si trovano i resti della Casa Natale di San Francesco: visitabile con ingresso gratuito, bisogna superare una piccola cancellata, quindi si scendono alcuni gradini da cui si vedono le porte che corrispondono agli ingressi alle varie zone della casa.
In fondo alla scalinata c'è una piccola nicchia, con un altare in pietra, una scultura e soprattutto una vetrata bellissima: il posto è sicuramente meritevole da essere visitato, anche per distogliere un po' lo sguardo dalla molteplicità di chiese (bellissime eh!) che Assisi offre.
