★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Strictly speaking of the Salo, Italy area, Italmark is preferred. Carrefour is not a *bad* choice, but I'd rather go to Italmark (they get 4 stars). Based primarily on range of choice and price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For Italian supermarket it's pretty bad, we have seen many mold things, not good choice of better products such as Olive oils of better grade, not very nice fruits and vegetables.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Supermarket open 24/7. Lots of products. But do not buy fresh fish or meat! On multiple occasions we’ve bought bad fish and meat. The gambas were having worms, the octopus smelled and tasted old. This was also the case for meat, We’ve bought hamburgers and entrecôte. Both tasted sour and seemed
to be too old for sale, even though the expiration date stated it was still ok!
Fruits and vegetables are ok. Decent wine selection, but pricey! Also do mind that discounts/promotions on products are most of the time some sort of a cash back loyalty member program, which obviously does not work for tourists visiting the area for a week or two.
