Con un sistema innovativo di app per l'apertura della porta e con un pulsante che attiva l'illuminazione e la spiegazione di tutti gli affreschi che si vedono.Pochi metri prima della chiesetta ci sono tavoli e panche sotto gli alberi che invitano a fermarsi per una piacevole merenda al fresco. Complimenti a chi ha organizzato il tutto,per una bella visita da ricordare. Gorgeous! With an innovative system app for the opening of the door and with a button which activates the lighting and the explanation of all the frescoes that vedono.Pochi meters before the church there are tables and benches under the trees invite you to stop for a pleasant snack in the fresh air. Congratulations to those who arranged this for a nice visit to remember.

Un po' difficile da trovare con il navigatore, ma luogo e interni ripagano abbondantemente: si lascia l'auto a lato di un boschetto di pioppi e di un rivo limpido, passato il ponticello ed entrati nella chiesuola i colori vividi e i tratti aggraziati degli affreschi del 1430 circa affascinano. La mano di Aimone Duce illustra il Compianto sul Cristo morto che mi richiama in mente Memling e van der Weyden...la Cavalcata dei vizi e la teoria delle Virtù insegnano cosa seguire e cosa evitare le une in un giardino fiorito, le altre con umorismo che fa pensare e segnala sempre la catena che ti lega...alcuni santi e martiri particolarmente venerati sul posto, San Michele e la psicostasia di matrice bizantina. La volta è invece di autore rimasto ignoto, e più tarda, forse del 1474 (data scritta su un cartiglio nell’area absidale). Sulla facciata una Annunciazione, ancora posteriore. An isolated church in a field, which looks towards the Monviso, in the territory of Villafranca Piemonte. A bit difficult to find with the navigator, but the place and interiors pay off abundantly: you leave the car at the side of a poplar grove and a clear stream, past the bridge and enter the binnacle the vivid colors and graceful features of the frescoes about 1430 fascinate. Dopo averla scoperta, grazie al suggerimento di mio cognato, ci sono tornato già altre volte, in bici da strada. E ci tornerò ancora quando avrò bisogno di tranquillità. The ancient church, the Alps with the Monviso in the foreground and a surreal silence conquered me. E il sottotitolo del libro stampato nel 2014 a carattere storico corredato da foto interni splendide e rare in quanto proibito per evitar danni. Mi pregio di aver incontrato gli autori, e di aver fatto da assistente specie al fotografo Cantamessa Augusto, (non piu tra noi). Autori:Arabella Cifani e Franco Monetti (storici d'arte), Marco Piccat (studioso di testi e raffigurazioni parietali), Carlotta Venegoni (collaboratrice in restauri). Una bella passeggiata con picnic, trovandosi in campagna, e spero sostiate al mio b&b chez serena. A masterpiece of Italian international gothic.
