L’antica cantina Poggio Borgoni si trova nel cuore del Chianti Classico, sulle colline del Fiume Pesa e precisamente a San Casciano in Val di Pesa, una delle zone italiane storicamente più vocate per la viticoltura. Accanto all’indiscusso protagonista Sangiovese, è allevato il vitigno Merlot che entra in assemblaggio in tutti e tre i vini prodotti, tra alberese misto ad argilla.
Borromeo 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva ? Sangiovese 90% e Merlot 10%.
??Fermentazione alcolica e malolattica in vasche di cemento. 24 mesi in barriques di rovere francese.
?Rosso rubino intenso.
?Si apre con rosa e ciliegia, giaggiolo e prugna, cedro e vaniglia; cenni di erbette aromatiche e spezie; tratto terroso di foglie secche e tartufo.
?Sorso di buona struttura, caldo e morbido, con tannini integrati e smussati. Lunga chiusura di sottobosco.
?Pappardelle al cinghiale o bistecca alla Fiorentina.
 BORROMEO 2016 - POGGIO BORGONI
The ancient Poggio Borgoni winery is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the hills of the River Pesa and precisely in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, one of the Italian areas historically most suited for viticulture. Alongside the undisputed protagonist Sangiovese, the Merlot grape is bred which is blended in all three wines produced, including alberese mixed with clay.
Borromeo 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva ? Sangiovese 90% and Merlot 10%.
??Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks. 24 months in French oak barriques.
? Intense ruby red.
?It opens with rose and cherry, iris and plum, cedar and vanilla; hints of aromatic herbs and spices; earthy stretch of dry leaves and truffle.
?Sip with good structure, warm and soft, with integrated and rounded tannins. Long closure of undergrowth.
?Pappardelle with wild boar or Florentine steak.
