★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sabato 19 gennaio alle ore 15 il Vescovo di Lamezia Terme, Monsignor Luigi Cantafora inaugurerà il primo centro Sportivo Diocesano, realizzato grazie ai fondi 8xmille assegnati alla Diocesi, in via Vignola Stella, adiacente alla Casa San Tarcisio. In un momento di difficoltà per la pratica dello sport in città, questa inaugurazione rappresenta un segnale di speranza e di ripresa. Il centro prevede un campo di calcio a cinque regolamentare, un campo di pallavolo, una pista per la corsa e locali spogliatoi e docce. Il centro Sportivo San Luigi Gonzaga, sarà gestito dalla Fondazione Caritas in collaborazione con l’Associazione Papa Giovanni XXIII, nella persona di Arturo Mottola, responsabile della Casa Famiglia ospitata nell’ex-Seminario Vescovile e che accoglie minori e disabili.
La finalità del Centro Sportivo Diocesano è offrire opportunità di integrazione e inclusione sociale mediante lo sport come terreno dove valorizzare le diversità fisiche, economiche e sociali. I destinatari prioritari di questo progetto: persone con abilità differenti, minori e migranti. Questo progetto vuole integrare per valorizzare le diversità e le unicità dei partecipanti e con una enfasi particolare verso il ruolo della donna nelle varie attività sportive: attiva sportiva e ludica in favore di portatrici di handicap; attività sportive e ludiche in favore dei migranti; attività sportive di fitness per donne in situazioni di obesità; tornei di calcio inter-ecclesiali; attività con minori e persone svantaggiate; percorso di assistenza psicologica alle famiglie e beneficiari.
On Saturday 19 January at 3 pm the Bishop of Lamezia Terme, Monsignor Luigi Cantafora will inaugurate the first Diocesan Sports Center, built thanks to the 8xmille funds assigned to the Diocese, in via Vignola Stella, adjacent to the Casa San Tarcisio. At a time of difficulty for the practice of sport in the city, this inauguration represents a sign of hope and recovery. The center has a regular five-a-side football field, a volleyball court, a running track and changing rooms and showers. The San Luigi Gonzaga Sports Center will be managed by the Caritas Foundation in collaboration with the Papa Giovanni XXIII Association, in the person of Arturo Mottola, head of the Family Home housed in the former Episcopal Seminary and which welcomes minors and the disabled.
The purpose of the Diocesan Sports Center is to offer opportunities for integration and social inclusion through sport as a terrain where physical, economic and social diversity can be valued. The priority recipients of this project: people with different abilities, minors and migrants. This project aims to integrate to enhance the diversity and uniqueness of the participants and with a particular emphasis on the role of women in various sports activities: active sports and play in favor of the handicapped; sporting and recreational activities in favor of migrants; fitness sports activities for women in situations of obesity; inter-church football tournaments; activities with minors and disadvantaged people; psychological assistance to families and beneficiaries.
