A nice shaded camping lot on the hill of Trieste. Clean toilets and helpful staff. There is a good family run restaurant inside. Fish is the main course. Try it!

Nice camping with great view, I was here in April 2021 and had a nice and short stay. The staff didn't know a lot of English but nevertheless we found a way to communicate enough for me to make my way around.

Well placed on the top of a hill with a wonderful view on the bay and the city. Pay attention that you take the "easy road" and not necessarily the one Google maps suggests as for us it was very steep (!!) with people stopping at the hill which resulted in the need for a hill start with a packed car. To get to town I recommend walking 10 mins to Opicina (they will tell you how at the info desk) and buying the day ticket for 4,35€ if you want to combine your city trip with swimming at the Barcola "beach" and seeing the Miramare Castle. From Opicina you can take the bus to town. Otherwise you can get one way tickets at the info desk for 1,55€ and take the bus from a closer station called Obelisco. The spot we were allocated on the camping site was nice and big enough for a car, a tent and a bit of space in between for cooking and eating. There were tiles on the ground with some gravel from around on it. If you want to keep your mattress in the tent safe, you might want to take a broom to remove the little stones. The lavatories were not up to the standard we are used to. The toilets didn't have any toilet paper and depending on where you are placed there were mostly the ones where you have to stay standing up while doing your business (especially for women). I would suggest to go in the lavatories at the end of the camping (after the entry right and then always straight) as they seemed the best equipped. There was only one shower per lavatory which created quite a line in the morning. If you are the first (I was once at around 6:30) you have to wait about 5 minutes for the water to arrive.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Big beautiful sites. Many permanent homes. It’s like an forest. Very nice and beautiful and best view to oversee the Trieste city. It’s up in the mountains and lots of shadows. There is a famous restaurant at the entrance of the site. It’s cheap and nice seafood but quite so so service. Toilet: it’s close to our spot and with 2 showers and 3 toilets. No paper. Shower room is quite big with a chair in it. Good to put stuff. Very clean. I had a good shower and washed hair there. We will come back if possible

Awesome location, great people, service, contained, clean, great restaurant. By far it's the best near Trieste if you're not traveling with kids and want to be near down town. You can walk to dt in 45mins and come back using public transportation. The panoramic Napoleonica gravel road start just 300m from the entrance of the campground! I just love it!

We have been here for 3 days and liked it very much. Up in the mountains, a little bit more cool and a very nice and gentle service man who helps in any situation with a good advice..watch the black squirrels! 1,35€ for a bus that carries you direct downtown!

What a lovely find although quite difficult due to small signage. Denis greeted us very warmly and led us up to a beautiful spot overlooking Trieste, a very helpful friendly guy. Not a huge amount of spare plots due to the site mainly being taken up by long termers. We'd definitely come back.
