★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mixing local and Bavarian, excellent food and beer. I would recommend the Jota (Trieste soup/stew), delicious and very filling. Friendly staff member. Was quiet when we visited midweek, but there were a few other people and weekends it is meant to be much busier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ nice traditional Triestini food at reasonable prices and a good choice of beer, including Weissen. And sometimes there is live music too. One of Trieste's bright spots. Depending on the time of year you may need to book ahead if you want to eat on a Friday or Saturday night.
Edit for 2020, the last couple of times I've gone the food not nearly as good as it used to be and definitely not as fresh. They need to up their game or they will start to lose customers. Downgraded from previous 5 stars to 3.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After weeks of traveling Italy and taking in the country’s best pizza, pasta and risotto offerings, we stumbled across this gem in our last city stop. The menu is an eclectic mix of Italian classics with hearty Bavarian dishes too. We ordered the goulash with bread dumplings and pasta bolognese to share and it was top notch! Expect friendly service typical of Italy here.
