You can now arrive at Bologna Central Station, thanks to high speed trains, in half an hour, from Florence, an hour from Milan, in an hour and a half from Venice, in 2 ½ hours from Rome, in 5 hours and 45 minutes from Bari The Metropolitan Railway System is also connected to almost all the cities and provinces of Emilia Romagna.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very large station over several levels, connected directly to the bus station. There are 4 subterranean platforms, with lifts and escalators down to them for the high speed trains. Unlike the London underground, these platforms are not unbearably hot even in summer. The upper station is functional and adequate, predominantly for the regional and non high speed trains. More seating is needed throughout.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From Verona to Bologna within 50 minutes by Trenitalia high speed train ?! What a surprising modern train station! Unfortunately, there’s no tourist information insight in the train station! What a shame! I guess there’s not many tourists interested in this city?!?!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a large station with just about every convenience you could wish for. The ticket office in the entrance is open till 21:00 and there are plenty of self-service machines too, including for Italo. Everything is clearly signposted, in both Italian and English.
First time I've taken a train or been in a station in the COVID era. Huge efforts have been made to enforce social distancing and to keep arriving and departing passengers apart, both in the station and on the trains themselves.
Like in every station in Italy, there are large posters listing all the arrivals and departures in chronological order with platform number.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you see these 2 people be sure to report them to the local police. They're currently wanted to scamming travellers and were last seen in the Modena/ Bologna area. Beware!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its a bit chaotic and you cannot sit inside even If you have to wait Long hours during the night. Many Ticket machines dont work. You cannot make a Green Pass even If you arrive from abroud

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have used this train station many times and it is amazing! It has a lot of stores and a lot of restaurants where you can eat. They have vending machines everywhere and it is almost always busy! ( especially in the morning in weekdays) . I have been to Bologna twice and the train station and it was clean everytime I went there. It deserves 5 stars!
