★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un tempo sede del Consiglio Comunale, biblioteca storica silenziosa e perfetta per il raccoglimento, in posizione prestigiosa su Piazza Vecchia. Si integra armonicamente con il resto della piazza nonostante la facciata di gusto neoclassico sia stata completata nel 1913. Conserva due splendidi mappamondi (un globo terrestre e uno celeste) di fine '600 e la maggior raccolta esistente di edizioni delle opere di Torquato Tasso.
 Once the seat of the Municipal Council, a silent and perfect historical library for recollection, in a prestigious position on Piazza Vecchia. It harmoniously integrates with the rest of the square, despite the neoclassical taste façade being completed in 1913. It preserves two splendid globes (a terrestrial and a celestial globe) of the late 1600s and the largest collection of editions of Torquato Tasso's works.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oceniam jedynie budynek biblioteki, ponieważ kiedy byłem w Città alta, niestety była zamknięta. Budynek piękny, okazały i położony przy głównym placu. Jak większość budynków w tym pięknym miejscu, robi wrażenie.
I only rate the library building, because when I was in Città alta, it was unfortunately closed. Beautiful, impressive building and located on the main square. Like most buildings in this beautiful place, it is impressive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meravigliosa biblioteca che si affaccia sulla Piazza Vecchia della città alta di Bergamo. Vi sono tutti i documenti storici tant'è che è una delle più importanti in Italia: una vera e propria istituzione. La sede è nel Palazzo Nuovo dove prima c'era il Comune. Ha un aspetto elegante e leggero in stile neoclassico.
Wonderful library overlooking the Piazza Vecchia of the upper town of Bergamo. There are all the historical documents so much so that it is one of the most important in Italy: a real institution. The headquarters are in the Palazzo Nuovo where the Municipality used to be. It has an elegant and light neoclassical style appearance.
