Small environment and no table service. Possibility to buy pizza by the plate. Located in a square from which you can enjoy a beautiful view (valley and lake of Bolsena).

Restaurant with outdoor tables in a splendid position, overlooking the gate of S. Martino and the medieval walls on one side, and the panorama of Tuscia on the other. Friendly owner, decent snacks and pizza. Ideal for stopping to catch your breath while exploring Valentano. Recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I wandered over to the Bar il Tiglio after dinner at her relatives home in Valentano. Right outside the walled town's northern gate is this little chunk of land with the bar, perched on top of the hillside's edge. It's definitely a "boy's club" at night so my wife was the only woman present. With her cousin Peppino and a friend we sat under the strong shade trees in the park-like courtyard and enjoyed our after-dinner drinks and later had espresso as well. The view from this bar is fabulous and gives you an idea of how fertile the volcanic land surrounding Valentano is and how green it stays year-round. I love this town and truly value the Bar il Tiglio.
