not a 4 star hotel. feels more like a B&B than a hotel. Breakfast okish, but nothing special. Furniture in the rooms make you feel you visit your grandparents. It is a place to sleep, but not to spend the day there.

I've been very disappointed with my stay at this hotel: we booked a night because of all the good reviews, but did not get the experience we were expecting. As we arrived, we realized that there was a wedding happening in the courtyard of the baglio. The host apologized, saying it had been a sudden request and that she was unable to let her guests know of it, saying she would amend with a free cocktail. In the end here's what happened: we were lodged in a room in the adjacent courtyard, loud music went on until well past midnight, we never had our free cocktail and we never even had our Booking "genius" free welcoming cocktail. We were presented our bill at the end as if nothing had happened. I understand a wedding event brings much more money than an overnight guest, yet I believe the hospitality industry should be respectful of all the guests nevertheless. I would have felt more respected if they had told me in advance, even the very same day, offering alternative staying options in the area. It would have been a much less awkward situation for all of us. This said, the property looks nice, the rooms are small and minimalistic, the food at the restaurant is just ok. The only thing that shines is the breakfast with fruit, charcuterie, cheese, cereals, juices and a vast choice of desserts. We surely won't come back, but if you want to visit, at least give them a call in advance and make sure there is no event going on.

We decided to make a winery/agritourismo stop on our trip, saw this recommended in an itinerary so decided to give it a try. There was a wedding going on that evening so we felt like we were intruding the whole time. We thought the pool would be open after 4pm but it’s actually closed after 4, so we didn’t have access to that at all. It’s a beautiful property and the sunset view from the terrance is lovely - but there’s not much to do otherwise so it’s not quite worth the effort for the stop. The restaurant is average, my king prawns were perfectly cooked, but the green salad was just a plate of iceberg lettuce. Seriously it’s just lettuce. But breakfast was good. Wish we opted for an Airbnb instead, like the rest of our trip which have all been hits, instead of paying double the price for this stay.

Baglio Donna Franca is more like a B&B than a hotel. It is also rather far from everything. A previous review complained about a "surprise" wedding that did not allow guests to rest peacefully. Also in our case we had a wedding. The owner apologized for the inconvenience , and just as it was mentioned in the previous review, assured us that it was not a planned event but rather a last hour decision. In our case we were not offered cocktails, but only apologies. What bothered me the most about the place is that we booked 5 rooms that turned out to be very different yet were billed at the same price: on the second floor one of the rooms was huge and beautiful with a much better view than the others. Two others were a normal size (mine was 205) on the second floor. But another room also on the second floor was a LOT smaller and rather sad. My sister had one on the first floor with the window facing the car parked in front, dark and small, noisy and rather depressing. Why would all these rooms have the same price?? Absurd. Be careful if you book there: ask about weddings, and make sure the room you get is on the second floor and is BIG, at least as big as 205 ( which is normal size). Furniture are like your grandmother's. Bathroom sink did not drain well. Don't count on aperitifs or cocktails. They have no bar service. The restaurant is hit- and- miss. Bring mosquito repellants.

Great view from around the swimming pool. Quiet. Good restaurant. Fine breakfast. And of course good wine. Minor minus points: our room on the ground floor was a bit sober, slow wifi. But overall strongly recommended, had a great time.

An Absolute Gem This working vineyard hotel is set in the middle of nowhere surrounded by miles of fields and vines and with a view of the sea and islands in the distance. It’s perfect if you want some where tranquil and quiet with beautiful views (and good wine!) The service couldn’t have been friendlier throughout our stay. There are just 15 rooms so it never feels busy. The food is excellent with a delicious breakfast buffet and lovely meals in the evening. The dinners aren’t cheap considering the portion size and the menu doesn’t change but it’s great quality and lovely tasting. The vineyard tour is free but it’s well worth paying for the wine tasting with local snacks. The pool has a wonderful setting so keep time free to spend it there relaxing. Trapani is just 30 minutes drive away and Marsala is 25minutes drive so it’s a good location to visit both of them. There was a slight issue with the smell of the drain and overnight condensation making the bathroom very wet, despite leaving the window open until it got dark, but it’s a minor gripe within four days of bliss. Thank you Baglio Donna Franca, Thank you to Angela for the lovely wineyard tour, thank you Stefania (hope I got this right)for the breakfast service and everyone else of course!

Pay a little more to get a room in the main building (otherwise you’ll have a ground floor room without windows). Friendly staff. Sunset dégustation was nice (1 white, 1 red, 1 sweet + bruschetta, cheese, almonds, biscuit for 16€) although descriptions were not very clear. Quiet surroundings. Nice outdoor pool but too cold to use in October. Breakfast was ok - different bread & cakes, cheese, charcuterie, fruits, coffee.

Nice hotel / winery on an elevated spot on the hills. This is also where the good experience stops; the place lacks atmosphere, the staff is "technical" instead of customer oriented and all in all it seems like you pay too much for what it is. Can not recommend.
