★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sono Salvatore Fiorella,donatore dal 28-novembre 1982, con molteplici donazioni sia di intero che di plasma e piastrine(fui chiamato a collaudare i primi macchinari per la separazione del plasma lasciando il mio lavoro,in proprio),oltre che essere disponibile ad ogni chiamata urgente.Oggi mi sono recato in laboratorio con tre richieste del medico curante per accertamenti, e mi e' stato detto che non ero piu' considerato donatore avendo 66 anni, quindi non avevo diritto a null'altro, nonostante gli avessi fatto osservare che avevo richieste del SSnn, quindi non mi dovevano regalare niente. Me ne sono tornato fortemente mortificato, e a casa la prima cosa che ho fatto e' stato quello di dire ai miei figli e nuora (avevano seguito il mio esempio)di non andare piu' a donare , provvedessero loro a farlo, mi dispiace solo per i riceventi.
I am Salvatore Fiorella, a donor from 28-November 1982, with multiple donations of both whole and plasma and platelets (I was called to test the first plasma separation machines leaving my work, on my own), as well as being available to every urgent call. Today I went to the laboratory with three requests from the attending physician for tests, and I was told that I was no longer considered a donor when I was 66, so I had no right to anything else, despite having pointed out to him that I had requests from the SSNN, so they didn't have to give me anything. I came back strongly mortified, and at home the first thing I did was to tell my children and daughter-in-law (they had followed my example) not to go to donate, they would do it, I'm just sorry for the receivers.
