I thank the Avis staff in Spoleto for their kindness and availability I received an excellent service they managed to give me an excellent car even though I had not booked before due to mechanical failure on my bike and they made me a good price for the rental

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our rental was not honored because I did not have an international driver's license, which is required with Avis (but not Hertz, which we recommend in Spoleto) but isn't stated anywhere on their website or rental agreements. We arrived at the office after walking several kilometers only to discover they wouldn't honor the rental agreement. The manager promised we would be refunded for the four-day rental and insisted we follow up by email, which we did, only to have them say there would be no refund. For a more positive rental experience, choose Hertz in Spoleto, a five-minute walk from the train station.
