Not recommended. Mr Stragapede first met my car when I went to him for some regular maintenance, a worn out wheel bearing and a carburettor job, but then since he played around with the axles and bearings, it was very shaky at some narrow speed intervals (I suspected a resonance problem). The car ran perfectly before he had put his hands on it. He had my car for a while, still couldn't find the problem and fix it despite it being a very common and simple small italian car. He made me change a good deal of parts he suspected could be responsible for the malfunctioning, none of them was the issue (they weren't even worn out). Then he blamed it on the wheels or the rims, despite the fact that the car didn't have that issue before entering his shop. I had the wheels aligned and balanced, at my expense, and still nothing changed. At last, after about one month back and forth from his shop without any improvement, I took the car to another mechanic who found the problem the very next day: apparently Mr Stragapede had some parts of the bearing and hub mounted reversed, or in the wrong order, can't tell precisely. Now, this was an easy, old, cheap and common car... The ones any mechanic in Italy has done thousands of in his career. Yet he failed. Badly. He's a nice and kind guy and all, but he's just not good enough in my opinion. This happened last year, and I've obviously avoided his shop ever since, despite it being very close to home which was a big plus. On a last note, I never got any receipt from him.
