★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'associazione Federica Albergoni è nata per ricordare Federica Albergoni, morta la notte di Natale del 2009 a causa di una leucemia fulminante, e per far sì che sempre meno persone abbiano il suo stesso destino grazie ad un maggior numero di donatori. Grazie al lavoro costante di Maurizio, di sua moglie, e di tutti i volontari, un camper si sposta di paese in paese per effettuare la tipizzazione. La tipizzazione consiste nel prelievo di una piccola quantità di sangue dal braccio, che viene analizzata e confrontata con i malati in attesa di trapianto.
In caso di presunta compatibilità si prosegue con altri accertamenti e, eventualmente, successivamente con la donazione.
Gli unici requisiti sono avere l’età dai 18 ai 35 anni e avere un peso minimo di 50 Kg!
Va sfatato un mito attorno alla donazione di midollo osseo: molti pensano che avvenga SOLO tramite il prelievo dalle creste iliache, quindi con un processo doloroso e sotto certi aspetti, "rishioso".. ma al giorno d'oggi esiste anche un metodo alternativo, che è quello del prelievo da "sangue periferico", cioè dopo aver fatto aumentare la produzione di midollo osseo per cinque giorni, viene poi prelevato sangue da un braccio, centrifugato, estratta la sostanza utile, e reimmesso il sangue nell'altro braccio. In modo completamente indolore.

A myth around the donation of bone marrow must be dispelled: many think that it happens ONLY through the extraction from the iliac crests, therefore with a painful and in some respects, "rishioso" process .. but nowadays there is also an alternative method, which is that of the extraction from "peripheral blood", that is, after having increased the production of bone marrow for five days, blood is then taken from an arm, centrifuged, the useful substance extracted, and the blood is put back into the other arm. In a completely painless way.
