G	Geof Fountain on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I were in a group of eight that toured the Tuscany region in September 2019. Susanna was our tour planner and guide. Based on input from our tour leader, Susanna developed an eight day itinerary. The itinerary was sent to the whole group ahead of time for review and feedback. Susanna arranged a wonderful stay at a farm home converted into a bed and breakfast/dinner villa complete with their own vineyard and delicious wine, with a view of the town of Cortana on the horizon. The meals and service there were fantastic. Susanna met us each morning with the van driver and off we went. Susanna was very knowledgeable on all our destinations. We learned and experienced things we could never have done on our own. We had delicious gourmet lunches at all our destinations. Susanna worked hard to get us tickets at the joust tournament in Arezzo – it was fantastic ! It was the dream trip of a lifetime. And an added benefit is we now have new lifetime friends in Susanna and her husband Alessandro. : ) Ciao.

She put together an agenda of places and sights that gave me a deep appreciation for the beauty of Italy's treasures. She is most well qualified to lead her tourists through the country that she loves, as she has lived there all her life. She is also most well qualified to describe the beautiful art in Italy, as attested by her academic activities of lecturing, teaching and researching on the Medici Family, Florence and the Renaissance and the over 10 books she has published, including one on the Uffizi Gallery, translated in many languages and "Renaissance Art Masterpieces in Painting, Sculpture and Architecture" published in 2007 in the US by Barnes and Nobles. I have several of these books now! I was not a student of art when I experienced my tour. By the end of the tour, I appreciated the art we saw, and actually understood it, because of Susanna's wonderful detailed explanation of each. She described the historical background, the artist, political issues of the day, and more.

I worked as a Tour Director for a relatively small operator who preferred to exclusively use Susanna. She is talented and well spoken and an ultimate professional guide. But what always impressed me the most with her tours is the deep deep knowledge she possesses about all her subject matter. You might get a sense of that in a single tour, but accompanying Susanna on many tours and repeat tours, I had the opportunity to dive deep into the details. Never did find the bottom of her well of information. After not seeing her for more than a year (Damn Covid!), I recognize more clearly the wonderful resource and human I had on my hands. I sincerely and wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Susanna and all of her tours and projects.

Susanna is extremely knowledgeable and provides a magical review of local art treasures as well as great wineries and local restaurants. She found us a comfortable and beautiful home base in Arezzo and from there proceeded to plan a once in a lifetime tour of Tuscany's small towns and wineries. She started our tour with tickets to the re enactment of the famous Medieval Joust! She capped our tour with a view of Florence from the eyes of a art historian! She left us with a desire return to this magical place!

Susanna's knowledge seems to be unending, adding great value to visits of various churches and other buildings. Susanna's English is easy to understand, and she's eager to share her passion and love for her subject matter. As of yet, I have not yet been able to utilize Susanna's services for wine and food tours, but she has been generous in offering me her suggestions for some of my own personal discovery. I look forward to when I will be able to go on a tasting tour with Susanna.
