โ โ โ โ โ Real honest to god working leather shop, Got my last bag there, and going back for seconds... Fun people, true artisans, VERY reasonable prices, the work is stellar, the durability makes me think my last one will last for decades... We're driving near there again on holiday from the states... , and I'm making a 40km detour JUST to go there to get a dress purse to go with my "daily workhorse"...
Go to Orvieto. Go to Arte del Cuoio. and if you have time, have one made custom for you. You will not, repeat, NOT EVER regret it.
Now for an update, 21 Dec 17 -... we -did- go back, and added to my collection - another stunningly beautiful piece of art, disguised cunningly as a shoulder bag. --grins-- Unfortunately, we weren't staying in the area (going to the Amalfi coast for a well deserved (and rare) vacation the next morning!) but I found out that if you have an idea of what you want, and can sketch it out (knowing some Italian is almost a necessity - bring your dictionary, or your iTranslate on your phone!) they will custom build your dream in a couple to 3 days. Once again - Arte del cuoio lives up to its name and reputation!

โ โ โ โ โ This is beautiful place in middle of the even more beautiful and astonishing Orvieto.
They handle many different hand-made leather items, with a high skill work. I got a couple of messenger bags, after 2 years they are strong as ever and keep looking better every day. Prices are a steal.

โ โ โ โ โ The wife bought her favorite (ever) purse/backpack here, nearly 7 years ago, which she gets compliments on all the time back home in Manhattan. I got myself a simple, thick, leather bracelet with a magnetic clasp. Not the type of thing you think will last, and definitely an impulse buy. But then I wound up wearing it 24/7 for about 6 years... and still wear it a few days a week. It's so weathered it's unbelievable but still holding strong. Magnetic clasp still - miraculously - holding as firm as the day I got it. Best leather value I've ever experienced. And my wife feels the same about her bag - still in heavy rotation after 7 years of use. Great and stylish designs that'll last. What more could you ask for?
