Argot Prati

Un locale molto bello, sia per la posizione, sia per l'arredamento elegante e ricercato. Ottimo aperitivo, dove si possono ordinare dei piattini molto buoni e ricercati, come anche la cena, seppure il menù non offra molta scelta. Servizio ottimo e cocktail fatti bene.

we just had drinks, but the food on the other tables looked great. the staff is very friendly, fast and considerate.

What luck! We had an arduous day that included a later-than-we wanted flight from Palermo, a taxi ripoff (not unusual in Rome) and two members of our party coming up with what turned out to be false positives on the Covid tests for our impending return to the US. We were looking for nothing more than food to fill our stomachs when we stumbled upon Argot Prati. We took a four top outside and puzzled over the small but interesting menu settling on a pair of duck confit appetizers and a variety of pasta dishes. We were doubly lucky in having Daniele as our waiter. Daniele is a true professional (to say nothing of being a delightful guy) and is extremely knowledgeable about the wines in their cellar and the foods issuing from the kitchen. His guidance and the superb work of the kitchen staff provided us with perhaps our most memorable meal of this three weeks in Italy. The duck confit is not to be missed! Rich and a little unctuous from the duck fat, paired with a remarkable green herbaceous sauce and a dab of creme fraiche, this kicked off the meal with a bang. Following the duck, two of our party enjoyed a perfectly rendered cacio e pepe served with a sort of quenelle of minced raw shrimp on top. Absolutely spectacular! Another had a dish of pasta that, well, to say that it echoed eggplant parmagiana gives far too much credit to that gloppy Americanized mess. Their interpretation highlighted to flavor of the roasted aubergine nestled in a perfect marinara and a perfect proportion of cheese. My plate of gnocchi with chicken is a spicy sauce was divine. We finished the meal with two radical desserts. Mine included foie gras and creme fraiche among other things and was a show stopper. Don't be put off by the seemingly incongruous flavors. The finished package is astonishingly good and Daniele paired it with a wonderful off dry white wine the perfectly refreshed our palates. Argot Prati - the one in sort of far Trestevere, not the one in Campo dei Fiori* - is absolutely not to be missed. I cannot praise it or Daniele highly enough. *This is not intended to throw shade on the Campo dei Fiori location. I just haven't eaten there.

Went as a last minute “hey let’s have a drink before dinner” thing. We had a couple of cocktails (really great) and a small plate (stewed meatballs delicious). Denise, our waitress was amazing with her recommendations and personality. We made reservations for a couple days later and left for our other reservation. When we arrived at the other restaurant to find it closed. Lucky us we went back to Argot Prati and Denise welcomed us back. We had an amazing dinner. Best we’ve had in Rome. Denise was so amazing with her recommendations and then helped us with getting reservations at another place she recommended. Could not be happier with Argot Prati. Should have taken more photos.
