A good stroll through the excavations with information boards along the route. A UNESCO World Heritage site, and a Basilica in the middle of the town.

Outstanding site. The church and the mosaics are a must see. The museum was also nice and the staff was friendly and supportive. Great.

This short walk next to the ancient Roman quay is beautifully peaceful. Plenty of intriguing old buildings remain, including huge holes presumably for enormous gates. I've seen beavers on a few occasions on the adjacent river. And there's an ancient Sundial.

This area is an open archeological site as others nearby, so you won't be charged to access. It's well presented because it's a promenade with all the ruines alongside the path. The more important pieces all have large plaques that explain the history of the single ruin and their role in the ancient port and the Roman Aquileia. The visit won't take more than half an hour for this reason I'd suggest the visit to the Basilica, the baptistery and the mosaic expositions that you can visit paying 15€, or just 7€ if under 18y/o, with the "FVG Card Aquileia" available at the ticket office/bookshop near the Basilica.

Very nice Roman ruins. You can see lots of thing in Roman history. On the way to walk lots.of tree and wind you will feel relax..and if you keep straight walking will see the Basilica. Near there have many shops, bar and restaurant you can enjoy.

A Roman-era port connecting the city to the Adriatic. This free entry park allows you to see many Roman ruins. Mostly in good shape. Surprising it was free to enter. Dogs also welcome to walk through. It's only open during daylight hours. Some descriptive signs inform you what you see. Highly recommend and a little away from the city's main sights.
