★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Portofino Est Residence, Situated on the heights of San Michele di Pagana with spectacular views of the Gulf of Tigullio. All along this beautiful coastline you can find fascinating towns and villages including Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure
The resort is open all year round and the onsite facilities comprise of a swimming pool and tennis courts. Most of the units have balconies, terraces, or gardens. The resort is on a hillside with spectacular views and not much else. The parking is minimal, and the hillside itself very steep. Would not recommend for anyone with ambulatory issues. The room was Dirty. The bed and pillows are awful and there is an extra charge for sheets. The tile floor is cracked. You definitely need a car to get around. Be prepared for some hiking. The whole area is very hilly, included getting around the resort from the parking area to the rooms. Not a place to just 'hang out'. WiFi is intermittent at best and around the cafe only with a new pass key every day. Staff was only available between 9 -12PM and 3 - 6PM. If you're looking for a 'home base' from which to travel and explore the area, this resort is fine, but, if you're looking to spend the majority of your time in the town of Rapallo or at the resort, I'd recommend a hotel closer to town or a different resort. Shuttle access was also intermittent, and nothing was within easy walking distance, including our car.
