The food was good, beautiful inn but the bread you pay less if you are in Milan 8 slices of bread and two half-liter jugs of water 9 €.

La cucina è tipicamente locale e di ottima qualità. Consiglio l'antipasto della casa in cui eccelle sia la frittata di patate che i salumi locali. Come primi di pasta c'è una buona scelta : io ho gustato una amatriciana rivisitata in chiave calabrese con la nduja. Secondi a base di carne e pesce fresco. Vino rosso di una cantina cosentina di ottimo livello ( Gaudio). Da ritornarci. In a charming little square, in the award-winning village of our beautiful Calabria, there is this interesting restaurant-bookshop. Staff courteous and helpful. The cuisine is typically local and of excellent quality. I recommend the antipasto of the house where both the potato omelette and the local cured meats excels. As a first course of pasta there is a good choice: I tasted an amatriciana revisited in a Calabrian key with nduja. Main courses based on meat and fresh fish. Red wine from an excellent Cosenza winery (Gaudio). To go back.

Buonissima la frittata di patate. Peccato per l’attesa durata più di tre quarti d’ora. Non ho apprezzato in particolare che per scusarsi dell’attesa ci hanno servito un risotto agli agrumi, per altro benissimo, ma eravamo in 8 e il piatto era uno. Avremmo preferito, anche se più semplice una fresina. The place is very nice, with an outdoor space worthy of the beauty of the village of Fiumefreddo country. The products are typical and our own. The potato omelette is delicious. Too bad for the wait lasting more than three quarters of an hour. I didn't particularly appreciate that to apologize for the wait they served us a risotto with citrus fruits, for another very good, but we were 8 and the dish was one. We would have preferred, although a simpler fresina.

Ho mangiato un primo piatto particolare e piccante, davvero unico. Nel tagliere vengono serviti salumi di qualità. Un grazie di cuore per la gentile offerta di un piccolo tagliere extra, abbiamo apprezzato davvero tanto e speriamo di tornare qui l'anno prossimo. A wonderful discovery both for location and for the quality of the food, all clearly first choice: the taste does not betray. I ate a particular and spicy first course, truly unique. Quality cold cuts are served on the cutting board. A big thank you for the kind offer of a little extra cutting board, we really enjoyed it and we hope to come back here next year.

Sin dalla location, in un palazzo antico di fronte una piazzetta chiusa, che diventa bellissimo scenario per mangiare all'aperto. Dentro il locale è strutturato su due livelli, pulito, ordinato con un arredamento che è tipico di un'enoteca, adornata da moltissimi libri. Il menù è coinciso, offre ottime alternative, ma non ti fa perdere tra mille scelte. I primi la fanno da padrone, con buone scelte per quel che riguarda i secondi piatti. Leggendo si capisce la cura per la scelta degli ingredienti. Cosa che viene fortemente ribadita quando il cibo arriva in tavola. Assaggiandolo capirete subito che la materia prima è del luogo, raccolta e lavorata. I salumi sono superlativi, così come le verdure, coltivate da loro. A tutto ciò si aggiunge una carta dei vini che punta tutto sulla Calabria. La cosa non mi dispiace per nulla, anzi. I prezzi, vista la qualità, sono del tutto adeguati. In quattro, con una bottiglia di vino, due primi, due antipasti discretamente ricchi ed un tagliere, abbiamo speso complessivamente meno di 80€. Unica pecca (perciò tolgo una stella) è stato il servizio, che probabilmente dovuto al periodo fuori stagione, era visibilmente sotto stress, cosa che si rifletteva un po' sul servizio. Ma la mia va presa non come una critica, ma come uno sprono a migliorare. Ci tornerò sicuramente. The place is a slow food presidium, which you can breathe in everything. Right from the location, in an ancient building in front of a closed square, which becomes a beautiful setting for outdoor dining. Inside the restaurant is structured on two levels, clean, tidy with a decor that is typical of a wine shop, adorned with many books. The menu is the same, offers excellent alternatives, but does not make you lose yourself in a thousand choices. The first courses are the masters, with good choices for what concerns the second courses. Reading you understand the care for the choice of ingredients. This is strongly reiterated when the food arrives on the table. Tasting it you will immediately understand that the raw material is local, collected and processed. The cured meats are superlative, as are the vegetables, grown by them. To all this is added a wine list that focuses entirely on Calabria. I do not mind at all, quite the contrary. The prices, given the quality, are completely adequate. In four, with a bottle of wine, two first courses, two fairly rich appetizers and a cutting board, we spent a total of less than € 80. The only flaw (so I take away a star) was the service, which probably due to the off-season period, was visibly under stress, which reflected a little on the service. But mine should be taken not as a criticism, but as a spur to improve. I will definitely be back.

As an avid fisherman from Miami I am quite particular about my fish and didnt like Cod until I had it here. The flavors of all the foods paired very well, the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. This restaurant is a hidden gem and should definitely be a place you eat whether or not you stay with Maria-Teresa in her AirB&B

This place has it all: beautiful location and building that was renovated respectfully and with an authentic taste. The food is original, yet 100% local and to my opinion very tasty. We're vegetarians and are served accordingly without lack of choice by miss Marie Teresa. She provides nice information in English and takes care of a relaxing dining (or lunch) experience.
