Get a whole fish baked with potato and tomatoes. Delicious. The waitress was very helpful too. Orginally gave five stars but went back for a second meal which was not so great hence I changed this to four stars.

Hard to find but well worth the search, this is one of my top fish experiences ever. A former fish market building on the banks of the Mazara dotted with fishing boats, and a chef, Bartolomeo Marmoreo, from a family of fishermen. The 35 Euro 7 course tasting menu is incredibly varied and good. Mazzara is not on all people's travel plans, but I would drive 2 or 3 hours off my plannned path to experience THIS. Add a wide choice of wines by the glass and you have a winner. The tasting menu first course is a platter of raw seafood, imcluding salmon, ricciola, giant red shrimp, pink shrimps, gray shrimp, scampo, sea urchin, oyster and anchovy. Needless to say, freshly caught. Then comes a triple course of tenderrst octopus in citrus sauce, fish fillet on a sweet and sour bed of caramelized onions, and sarda beccafico. At the same time (I wish they had waited a bit, but anyhow, this is a detail) a platter of fried seafood the likes of which I have never tasted, with filleted sardines, tender calamari slices and, wonder of wonders, tiny tiny shrimp that you can eat whole, dozens of them, coated with an almost nonexistent coating and tasting divine. Thse are called fanali because they live deep in the sea and are luminescent. Before cooking they are transparent. At this point we hardly have any room left, but here comes the pasta, For me spaghetti with octopus, for CM it was busiate with red shrimp. Service is super attentive and very pleasant. Magnifico.

Excellent food and service. Staff was all kind and eve gave us a tour of the back to prove all the fish was local and fresh. Really cool to see and have some background. Ordered a spaghetti with baby shark and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Highly recommend the calamari antipasti as well.
