It used to be a nice place somewhat 10 years ago. Nowadays you order a simple espresso after waiting more than 10 minutes for the waiter and 20 minutes later you get your super expensive (1.50 euro for an espresso!) totally burnt coffee which you will just dislike. And you don't even get a glass of water for that price!

It's a very expensive bar pasticceria. 1,40 euro 1 Espresso!!! The cannoli isn't delicious... Not really a good experience!

The owner (Fillipo) is NOT very customer orientated, they will not go out of their way to assist anyone. This is replicated with their staff, very rude and condescending. I would suggest that all tourist find another pasticceira when in Messina. I would suggest Pasticceira Crupi or Lorino, they demonstrate a real artisan flair and are customer orientated. NOT IRRERA....bad decision

Impressive place, unimpressive food This cafe/pastry shop reminded me of some fancy little place in Dallas that you might find, that's trying to emulate a European pastry shop. Which is kind of funny when you think about it. What I mean in the end, is that it was a more elegant pastry shop than others you might stumble into. The prices were pretty fair-average, and the selection was pretty vast. I wasn't impressed however, with the arancino that I had (perhaps I'd been spoiled by the ones I had in Tropea the week before), but I specifically wanted to have one in Sicily, since that's where they are from. So, I ended up spending 1.70 on something that I didn't even finish. Sad. Staff was so-so. The first woman who waited on me was very nice and helpful, while the second woman who took my money could have been a whole lot friendlier. Busy inside, lots of locals and tourists, and while it's a nice place, it did remind me too much of an American establishment, and less of a European one. I'm sure you can do better in Messina.

We stopped in here after a long day touring Sicily. It definitely is expensive, but it was good. It was nice to find some good Baba.

Terrible terrible place. It advertises as a Gluten Free Pasticceria and they have zero gluten free things (or lactose free for all that matters). The maximum they will do is prepare a gluten free cake but only if you order in advance. Sympathy is also lacking and it's easy that will just ignore you to talk with people that they already know. Far from the best first impression, but it will also be the last. I won't ever be coming back.
