★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amandola poggia sopra tre colli dell'alta valle del Tenna che prendono i nomi dai castelli che vi erano presenti fin da prima la sua nascita: Agello, Leone e Marrubbione. Il più alto ed abitato è Castel Leone e raggiunge un'altezza di circa 550 m s.l.m.
La città è situata sulla destra del torrente Bora (o Callugo) e a sinistra del fiume Tenna, che la separa dalla zona industriale. Si trova a circa 10 km dalla vetta del monte Castelmanardo (1917 m s.l.m.), appartenente alla catena dei Monti Sibillini, la quale chiude il suo territorio ad ovest. Verso est si apre la valle del Tenna, dove il comune di Amandola arriva fino alle sponde del lago di San Ruffino; a nord e a sud mostra un territorio caratterizzato da elevate e boscose colline e valli solcate da numerosi torrenti.
Il suo territorio è il terzo più vasto della provincia di Fermo dopo la stessa Fermo e il vicino comune di Montefortino, in esso sono presenti 48 frazioni.
Amandola rests on three hills of the upper Tenna valley that take their names from the castles that were present there from before its birth: Agello, Leone and Marrubbione. The highest and most inhabited is Castel Leone and reaches a height of about 550 m s.l.m.
The city is located on the right of the Bora (or Callugo) stream and on the left of the Tenna river, which separates it from the industrial area. It is located about 10 km from the summit of Mount Castelmanardo (1917 m s.l.m.), belonging to the chain of the Sibillini Mountains, which closes its territory to the west. Towards the east opens the Tenna valley, where the municipality of Amandola reaches the shores of Lake San Ruffino; to the north and south it shows a territory characterized by high and wooded hills and valleys crossed by numerous streams.
Its territory is the third largest in the province of Fermo after Fermo itself and the nearby municipality of Montefortino, in it there are 48 hamlets.
