Greggi al pascolo e piccole cascate accompagnano l'ascesa fino a giungere in un a bella conca dove è collocata l'alpe. Un bello e facile itinerario consigliato per l'ambiente ed i panorami From Riale following the dirt road that allows you to gain altitude almost effortlessly. E	Enrico Ripamonti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bettelmatt è una conca glaciale; non possiede alberi ma, in compenso, è ricca di quelle erbe aromatiche che sono alla base del successo del famoso (e costoso) formaggio. Nei secoli passati il pascolo sfamava però anche i muli delle carovane che salivano al Gries: per questo motivo l'alpeggio è stato proprietà solo di famiglie importanti. Le poche e modeste baite che si vedono oggi non riescono a rendere questo passato glorioso. Bettelmatt is a glacial basin; it has no trees but, on the other hand, it is rich in those aromatic herbs which are the basis of the success of the famous (and expensive) cheese. In past centuries, however, the pasture also fed the mules of the caravans that went up to Gries: for this reason the pasture was owned only by important families. The few and modest huts that are seen today fail to make this past glorious.

Ecco l'Alpe Bettelmatt 2095 mt, pascoli sconfinati coronati dalle cime oltre le quali c'è la Svizzera Meta ideale per una passeggiata non impegnativa da Riale seguendo il percorso della strada sterrata o, più suggestivo, percorrendo il sentiero, più rapido ma più irto, che taglia le fioriture dei rododendri. In entrambi i casi sempre suggestiva la vista del lago Moresco. Può essere la metà oppure solo una tappa intermedia verso il rifugio Busto Arsizio o lo storico passo del Gries al confine svizzero.
