We had the best tour ever. Will never buy a supermarket balsamico again. It was lovely to get to know all the details of balsamico making and the personal family stories. We even got a taste of the pears from the orchard Beautiful environment delicious balsamico. Well worth a drive to Modena. Thank you Sandra

We had the pleasure of visiting Acetaia San Matteo today and had such a great experience. Sandra met us for our tour and was so kind and full of knowledge. She explained the whole vinegar making process and let us try several different kinds of traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena. It was so interesting and it’s so apparent that she is passionate about the process and her family’s history with balsamic vinegar. We loved every second of this tour and it was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy, I highly recommend it! Sandra, thank you for such a lovely experience!

We did a tour this morning with Ricardo (I hope I have your name correct) and what a fabulous tour we had. Ricardo is the fourth generation and he is so passionate about the balsamic production and knows everything about how it is made and why things are done the way they are done. He explained everything so well and answered all of our questions. We tasted some of the balsamic and it is so beautiful. The building has a lot of collections from the past and from Ricardo's mother too. We also saw the Lamborghini tractors, from 1960, which are still working and used on the property. We learned a lot, had a lovely time and wish Ricardo all the best for the future with the family business. I am sure he will be successful. And yes, we did buy some balsamic and also a pear jam, made from their own fruit. Thanks for a great morning.

A fascinating look at how balsamic vinegar is carefully produced and kept for generations. Luciano and Sandra treated us like family Luciano let my son ride his Lamborghini(his tractor). We could not believe just how warm and welcoming they are. The products that we sampled were fantastic and well worth the trip.

You can’t miss this experience, if you don’t like or have never tried balsamic vinegar you will end up loving it. Sandra is amazing, so much knowledge, warmth and wisdom of generations. My greatest experience in Modena, I’ll come back.

A must do trip! Sandra and Luciano gave us an exceptional tour of their acetaia. The making of traditional balsamic vinegar is such a labor of love that spans many generations connecting family to one another, to the region and to their cultural history. Sandra and Luciano know how to teach the process and how the taste of the vinegar changes with time and with the skill of the maker. This is a must-do tour if you are in Modena.

If you want to visit and tour a balsamic vinegar house, this is the one! This was SUCH an incredible tour and tasting! Sandra was a gem - we learned so much and she did an excellent job explaining the aging process of traditional balsamic vinegar! We were able to tour where they store the aging vinegar - the smell is amazing - and taste it at various ages. Started with 7 years (not technically traditional balsamic vinegar yet, but it gave a good sense of how it changes over time) and went way up from there! It's a small, family-run vinegar house with an amazing story. This is the type of real Italy I love to explore! Sandra was so genuine and shared refreshments with us after the tour. Additionally, if you buy products, the tasting is included (not so at some of the more commercial spots). Grazie mille Sandra! I'll be back!
