We had a fantastic experience at Franca's acetaia this September! You can feel the passion, love, and dedication in the air and it was one of the highlights of our trip for sure! It was extremely interesting to learn about how TRUE (traditional) balsamic vinegar from Modena is made, a work of love and dedication, passed on generation to generation, just incredible! Franca speaks fluent English so that was nice and I believe she also speaks French (and of course, Italian). She is a kind host and a delight to be around! 100% recommend this tour to anyone, totally worth it! I warn you tho, the fake balsamic vinegar you find at the supermarket, will be ruined for you forever :p Thank you Franca, see you again I'm sure!

Go visit them if you are around Modena and appreciate an excellent product done in its traditional way. Take some back home with you after learning it’s history and origins.

Franca was lovely. The tradition of Basalmico is important to her family and her family important to the tradition. There isn't a better person to teach about the process. Her passion for the production is contagious. I definitely recommend giving her a visit if you want an authentic taste of Modena.

We loved visiting this place and hearing about how the old traditions are being kept alive. It was nice coming to this acetaia as it was more of a hobby and family tradition rather than a large commercial operation like some of the others. It was much more authentic. The attic smelled amazing and the vinegar was delicious.

Franca shared her very personal family story and heritage in this unique tour. One of the more authentic tours we've ever been on and we learned a lot about traditional basalmic vinegar too. Loved hearing about how this all keeps their family closer Can't wait to get home and make a salad! (And some of the other recipes Franca shared too)
