S	Stefano Masnaghetti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Costruita probabilmente attorno alla metà del XII Secolo, l'Abbazia di Santa Fede è forse la più importante testimonianza del romanico astigiano. Se l'interno della vicina Chiesa di San Secondo è più ricco di capitelli scultorei, il resto dell'edificio è impareggiabile. La ricchezza policroma della Santa Fede è quella tipica delle chiese medievali piemontesi, col rosso dei mattoni e il bianco della pietra arenaria a confrontarsi e infine fondersi in armonia. Ma il vero tesoro è rappresentato dal portale d'ingresso, le cui tre paia di semicolonne incastonano una lunetta dai raffinatissimi intrecci scultorei, compreso un Cristo Pantocratore raffigurato all'interno della classica mandorla; tutt'intorno è un tripudio di figure stilizzate, animali, angeli, uomini ed esseri mitologici. L'abbazia ha pure un'interessante storia alle spalle, tutta da scoprire. Insomma, la visita è imperdibile. Probably built around the mid-twelfth century, the Abbey of Santa Fede is perhaps the most important testimony of the Asti Romanesque style. If the interior of the nearby Church of San Secondo is richer in sculptural capitals, the rest of the building is unmatched. The polychrome richness of Santa Fede is typical of Piedmontese medieval churches, with the red of the bricks and the white of the sandstone to compare and finally merge in harmony. But the real treasure is represented by the entrance portal, whose three pairs of half-columns set a lunette with very refined sculptural weaves, including a Christ Pantocrator depicted inside the classic almond; all around is a riot of stylized figures, animals, angels, men and mythological beings. The abbey also has an interesting history behind it, waiting to be discovered. In short, the visit is unmissable.

A sinistra del parcheggio un porticato offre un'esposizione di vecchi oggetti di uso comune, attrezzi agricoli, pentole, antiche toilette da camera...Prima di entrare in chiesa chiedete l'attivazione dell'audio descrizione bussando alla porta a destra dell,ingresso. In genere non ce n'è bisogno perché un volontario o suor Chiara vi accolgono già sul sagrato. Finita la visita potrete acquistare un elemento della produzione enogastronomia del territorio a cui l'azienda agricola dell'abbazia contribuisce con la fornitura di alcune materie prime (riso, miele, erbe aromatiche). Al rientro fate una sosta caffè e pasticcino alla Pasticceria Cavagnolesi in c.so ReUmberto a Cavagnolo (la strada principale che attraversa il paese).Buona visita The church is open and can be visited. Da qualche anno alcune suore gestiscono le visite assicurando accoglienza ed apertura. Vale la pena fare una visita! Romanesque is widespread in this area. Santa Fede is a splendid example. M	Maria Grazia Anelli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nel comune di Cavagnolo l’abbazia compare dal 1164 nel priorato di S Fede concesso da Federico Barbarossa allo zio Guglielmo il Vecchio Di stile tardo romanico nel ‘500 diventa chiesa campestre e cimiteriale. Chiesa a tre navate con una sola abside è costituita da blocchi di pietra muraria e mattoni. La facciata presenta un magnifico portale d’ingresso sovrastato da una bifora. Bellissimo i capitelli antropomorfi dell’interno scolpiti a tema vegetale, animale e teste umane. Un’una navata laterale bellissimo affresco della Vergine Maria in trono col bambino e due santi. Utilissima e lodevole la voce narrante all’Interno che fa da guida al visitatore. Complimenti!!! Curiosità: all’esterno della facciata sulla sinistra verso il basso compare la scritta relativa a un certo Priore di nome Rolando.
