β β β β β Great location the whole borough,it feels like stepping back in medieval times with the very ancient buildings and houses. The abbey looks great, with the garden and monks stable.
The location is also great to have aperitifs, Aperol Spritz, wines, beers in the fewer bars.
Defo recommended ??β

β β β β β It was simple and just beautiful. Iβm not Christian but I just enter and I like it.
Just the door was close so you will confuse if it is open but just push the door. Door will open for you.
They even had the information in Italian and English so thank you to them I can read and understand about this building.

β β β β β The complex is lovely and peaceful, the Gothic abbey is bare inside, but beautiful - very different from the churches you find in Rome. Unfortunately we weren't able to go into the museum as it still hasn't reopened.
Outside there are places to sit and relax, as well as a bar and a few shops in the buildings that once served the monks who lived here.
The only negative thing is the state of the Via Francigena in the surrounding area. At several points the path just seems to disappear. There should be far more signs to allow visitors to use the route.

β β β β β Absolutely fabulous medieval Church and Monastery. This is the place where Catholic luminary St Thomas Aquinas died. The religious community running the place has nuns and priests who provide a wonderful pastoral care to visitors and local families, including confessions in several languages
