The Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art ab / art of Brescia directed by Cav. Andrea Barretta, an intellectual with a passion for art as well as a writer and journalist, has innumerable reasons for presentation. Among these is giving space, face and body to the contemporary world in continuous evolution and ferment, with a look at the masters of modern Italian and international art, of the great twentieth century that constitutes the terrain on which to develop an itinerary that leads into the world of expressive experiences, generated by the "various" avant-gardes and neo-avant-gardes, by pop art, by material and gestural abstraction, by the conceptual and by the informal, by the nuveau réalisme, from poor art to digital art. The intent is to overcome an artistic panorama where there are more actors than spectators. Indeed, contemporary art has intervened with a revolution that has unleashed new potential but has failed to open up to the general public, becoming the prey of an abused art. A paradox that ab / arTe intends to overcome with the permanent artists, the artists chosen exclusively and the most recent acquisitions, which will form an exhibition itinerary in the artistically expressed creativity and in an "alphabet" of art. The aim is to create opportunities for collectors and artists to meet, between art and new "spectators", because today the cognitive experience is exercised above all in a synergistic path in relation to the market, productivity and due historical verification and criticisms. ab / arTe wants to reflect on the way and ways of signifying the methods of reading art, with respect to an approach with the contemporary that produces misunderstandings. So while distinguishing between the various trends that now touch all the possible and all the expressive means, ab / arTe intends to abandon archetypes worn in poetics now to be reviewed and go beyond that "nothing" that has translated the "beautiful" who knows where. ab / arTe presents art without restrictive formulas such as "figuration", "abstraction", "informal", but with the reasons of a reality in its existence, without wanting to be "avant-garde" by force or by fear of not being represented, for a stylistic coherence that often hampers the risk of a mutability that would put into play a credibility reached. ab / arTe without shouting at a return to the only pictorial order is presented in all its "anomaly": a new model of cultural institution as an articulation of knowledge that is not a museum and is not an art center intended as an association, looking for to feed the excitement in a human relationship with artists, critics and curators, who are the true glue and the engine that allows us to be able to follow and appreciate the art world in its continuous movement fueled and sustained by sales. ab / arTe is all this, and is aware that the affirmation in an ocean of "actors" crosses the real contact with the "spectators" only by letting the contemporary world not underlie the past and creativity does not force the limits of the present, seen that this last twenty years has produced artists overwhelmed by the media impact with the market, in a mass race towards annihilation.
