There should be more reports and improve arranging more modern and suggestive pitches with luminous signs for times, times, etc.

The structure should be renewed and made more dignified. Timekeeping panels often don't work. From the maritime station, ships connecting with Calabria depart.

In these cases it is the train that goes directly to the ferry and there is nothing to do. The different possibilities are due to the hours that one has possibilities to use. Not all trains cross within a ferry. You have to find out. Likewise, crossing by ferry is not very complicated. About 20 minutes of travel. The service itself is good. The issue of the departure in term of the Italian trains is another story. Keep calm.

Working perfectly well, bought a ticket right in front of the ferry for €2.5, cash only, was difficult to climb the stairs with baggage but it’s not necessary only if you need a beautiful view of the Island of Sicily, noisy of course but it’s a huge ferry with a lot of people and cars on it. The trip was very fast for me from VSG to Messina Maritime, 30-40 minutes I guess, and I recommend to climb those stairs, the views and emotions (and pics)) are definitely worth that. Thank you!
