★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, the better parts. The haircut was good and the barber Mr. Michele was tremendously gifted in terms of skill. He might have gone a bit too short but provided that summer is around the corner it can be overlooked. However, the part that I didn’t like was that he didn’t ask me much for instructions as it was my first time here and he should’ve involved me a bit more. My second concern is the exclusive use of a shaving machine instead of a shavette or cut-throat razor on the neck and which certainly defy the norms of a traditional barbershop. Lastly, the thing that offended me the most is how rudely was my request of making a video and few pictures of the barbershop turned down. Now, don’t get me wrong Mr. Peppino has the sole discretion (despite the fact that Truefitt & Hill, Antica Barbieria Colla allow filming inside their premises) to allow whoever he wants to film his shop but there should’ve been a polite way of refusing the client’s request bearing in mind that elegant and traditional barbershops like Boellis are also expected to be hospitable in addition to the barber services considering the fact that you are paying 2-3x for the same service that can be taken at any other random shop for quality that is not drastically inferior.
