L'accesso e la ricerca dei documenti è piuttosto facile, grazie all'assistenza del personale. I locali dove è ospitato l'Archivio, progettati dal Borromini, valgono da soli la visita. Magnifica la Sala Ovale dove si trova la sala di lettura, con il suo gigantesco camino in marmo.
For those who must carry out historical research on Rome, the Capitoline Historical Archive is an important step. The access and finding documents is fairly easy, thanks to the assistance of the staff. The premises where the Archive is housed, designed by Borromini, alone are worth the visit. Magnificent the Oval Room where the reading room is located, with its gigantic marble fireplace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lascio qualche appunto per chi volesse recarsi in questo storico edificio della Capitale per effettuare ricerche e consultazioni. Generalmente aperto dalle 9.30 alle 16, per accedervi è necessario prenotare tramite email agli indirizzi che si trovano sul sito; considerate che, per la quantità del materiale in loro possesso, generalmente i tempi di attesa per un appuntamento possono variare da una, due o tre settimane circa. Attenzione al periodo estivo, nonostante continuino ad essere aperti, ho scoperto che il servizio di fotoriproduzione è "in ferie" per tutto il mese di agosto: anche in quel caso l'accumulo di richieste è particolarmente lento, essendo solo una persona ad occuparsene, e per sole cinque pagine richieste a inizio agosto avrei dovuto attendere fine Settembre, il che lo trovo parecchio eccessivo; almeno un avviso sul sito e mi sarei mossa diversamente.
Comunque, i bibliotecari sono, nonostante all'apparenza possano sembrare un po' rigidi, molto disponibili e cordiali nel venire incontro alle esigenze degli studiosi, se fosse necessario mantenere il materiale per ancora qualche giorno o per qualsiasi informazione. Rispondono celermente. Consiglio di scrivere per qualsiasi cosa, anche dubbi su orari o su servizi, nel caso che le pagine internet non fossero aggiornate.
L'edificio interno è sicuramente affascinante, specialmente la sala ovale. Dispiace che l'esterno sia trasandato e lasciato a sé stesso, come purtroppo la zona in generale: confermo la quantità di immondizia nel percorso che conduce alla porticina da cui si accede.

However, librarians are, although apparently they may seem a bit rigid, very helpful and friendly in meeting the needs of scholars, should it be necessary to keep the material for a few more days or for any information. They respond quickly. I recommend writing about anything, even doubts about timetables or services, in case the internet pages are out of date.
The internal building is certainly fascinating, especially the oval hall. Sorry that the outside is unkempt and left to itself, as unfortunately the area in general: I confirm the amount of garbage in the path that leads to the door from which you enter.
