Ho conosciuto questo centro di assistenza gratuita dall’interno svolgendo lavoro di volontariato più di 20 anni fa. Una istituzione di tutto rispetto che opera nel territorio ormai da 30 anni. Dedicata all’accompagnamento alla fine dei malati terminali oncologici; fornendo gratuitamente sostegno anche ai loro famigliari. Gli ammalati vengono seguiti da figure professionali e dai volontari. All’origine dell’Advar vi è l’esperienza di malattia e di morte di Alberto Rizzotti, marito della nostra Presidente Anna Mancini, medico urologo dell’ospedale Ca’ Foncello di Treviso, che a soli 46 anni si ammala di tumore alla prostata. Ho avuto il piacere di conoscere Anna Mancini e costatare di persona il suo importante lavoro. All’inizio dell’anno e vista la crescita di questa malattia, l’ADVAR ha inaugurato un nuovo ampliamento. Tutto ciò non sarebbe possibile senza il lavoro dei volontari e senza le donazioni dei privati. “From an end, a beginning” says the motion of the ADVAR. I got to know this free assistance center from the inside by doing volunteer work more than 20 years ago. A respectable institution that has been operating in the area for 30 years. Dedicated to the care of terminally ill cancer patients at the end; also providing free support to their families. The sick are followed by professionals and volunteers. At the origin of Advar there is the experience of illness and death of Alberto Rizzotti, husband of our President Anna Mancini, urologist at the Ca 'Foncello hospital in Treviso, who at the age of 46 fell ill with prostate cancer. I had the pleasure of meeting Anna Mancini and seeing her important work in person. At the beginning of the year and given the growth of this disease, ADVAR inaugurated a new extension. All this would not be possible without the work of volunteers and without private donations.

I dottori, gli infermieri e tutti i volontari rappresentano a pieno cio che di buono c'è nella nostra società e nei valori che essa dovrebbe avere. Portafinestra che da sul giardino. Sembra di essere a casa per il clima che si respira. L'ordine e la pulizia regnano sovrane. Spendo anche una parola a favore di tutto il personale che ci lavora dai dottori, alle infermiere, alla cuoca,..... Sono tutti di una professionalità, ma soprattutto di una gentilezza e umanità unica. Sempre pronti a darti una spalla e una parola di conforto. Insomma un posto che riesce a far passare gli ultimi giorni di una persona con i propri familiari in maniera serena e soprattutto dignitosa. Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to assist my dying father in this hospice. The rooms are large, livable and welcoming. French doors overlooking the garden. It feels like being at home because of the climate you breathe. Order and cleanliness reign supreme. I also spend a word in favor of all the staff who work there from the doctors, to the nurses, to the cook, ..... They are all of a professionalism, but above all of a kindness and unique humanity. Always ready to give you a shoulder and a word of comfort. In short, a place that manages to pass the last days of a person with his family in a serene and above all dignified manner.

Mio marito , giovane papà ha passato gli ultimi giorni avvolto in un grande abbraccio familiare e io e mia figlia che tutti i giorni venivamo lì , accolte dal vostro calore . È stato lì 10 giorni, e dal primo giorno all'ultimo seguito con una assistenza meravigliosa fino alla fine, evitandoli i dolori atroci della malattia...personale premuroso sia con il malato che con i familiari... Una cosa che mi è rimasta impressa è la dignità della persona anche dopo la morte.. Anche quando la persona è morta lo accudiscono con dignità..in una stanza tutta sua con il nome di un fiore, mio padre era una Delia da morto, questa stanza resta illuminata giorno e notte, mai lasciato al buio, una stanza che a noi familiari trasmetteva un senso di pace nonostante l'immenso dolore della perdita... Li non sei un numero, né da vivo né da morto, li sei un essere umano, accudito da un personale speciale che lavora con il cuore e tratta le persone con un'anima elevata.. Grazie a tutti voi della Casa dei Gelsi ❤️ I needed this facility 2 years ago for my father .. Le cure palliative allevieranno il malato e la sua famiglia in tutto ciò che riguarda l'ultimo percorso. Personale preparato e gentilissimo. Durante quelle lunghe giornate di dolore abbiamo sempre trovato una parola di conforto, una spalla su cui poggiarsi. Queste magnifiche persone hanno restituito alla nostra mamma la dignità che la malattia le aveva strappato e hanno regalato a noi figlie un loro pezzo di cuore, non vi ringrazieremo mai abbastanza per la sensibilità e umanità dimostrataci, vi porteremo per sempre nel cuore… Our mother spent a week in this structure but as soon as she entered she immediately felt at home followed by people of great heart.
